Soluto, after having gone through millions of PC’s worth of data, has drawn up a top 10 of the most reliable systems for running Windows operating system. The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch model has beaten some stalwarts of Windows PC manufacture including Dell, Acer and Lenovo. Below is Soluto’s list:
Soluto says of Apple’s performance “A main factor in this machine’s metrics is the fact that every Windows installation on it is clean. With PC manufacturers loading so much crapware on new laptops, this is a bit of an unfair competition. But, on the other hand, PC makers should look at this data and aspire to ship PCs that perform just as well as a cleanly installed MacBook Pro.”
The listed score takes into account the program crashes, hangs, the background process, the boot time and the number of “Blue Screen of Death” errors per week. Soluto’s database includes information from 150,000 la[tops running either Windows 7 or 8. There was a total of 49 different hardware models on the list.
It is important to note that the list is not based purely on specifications or speed of the laptop but on its reliability and ultimately the user experience. It’s this quality of user experience that Apple has become famed for, therefore, it should be no surprise that the MacBook scored so highly. Putting aside any personal preference, this should serve as a wake-up call to PC makers that consumers don’t want loads of preinstalled crapware but a quality machine with a clean user experience.
